Vinion Brand and Packaging Redesign

As a leading brewing company, Brau Union Österreich stands for the highest level of expertise in the art of enjoyment. In addition to its well-known beer lineup, the company’s portfolio—which also includes the Vinion brand—features a carefully selected collection of sparkling wines and high-quality Austrian wines.

The goal was to create a consistently strong and clear brand identity into which the product line fits seamlessly. The design of the Vinion brand logo was gently modernized and simplified. Pichler & Gattringer also developed a comprehensive redesign of the entire Vinion product range. Particular emphasis was placed on ensuring that each wine variety is easily distinguishable while keeping every product tier within the portfolio clearly recognizable.

BEFORE/AFTER

Vinion Secco White and Rosé

A design was developed for Vinion Secco White and Secco Rosé that visually conveys the products’ lively lightness. Airy design elements, metallic finishes, and delicate pastel shades give the sparkling wines a modern, fresh look and highlight their character as the perfect accompaniment to moments of enjoyment. A packaging design that conveys both the delight of frizzante and a zest for life.

BEFORE/AFTER

Vinion Edition

A label design was developed for the Vinion Edition line that harmoniously combines a sense of quality with artistic accessibility. The color scheme of each wine fits seamlessly into the brand’s overarching color concept, creating clear visual guidance within the product line. At the same time, it interprets the character of each grape variety in a modern way and lends the products a pleasant lightness that bridges tradition and contemporary sensibilities.

APPROACH AND RESULTS

A combination of craftsmanship and modern label production.

At the heart of the design is a hand-painted, stylized grapevine that draws the eye to the wine’s origins and creates a visual connection to its place of origin. The illustration conveys authenticity and underscores the winery’s close connection to its terroir. At the same time, it gives the labels a distinctive, personal touch that makes the product’s approachability and the passion for genuine craftsmanship palpable.

The result is a cohesive visual identity that highlights the wines’ high quality through the quality of the imagery and metallic finishes, thereby creating an emotional connection between the product, the brand, and the viewer.

With the redesign of our Vinion wine and sparkling wine range, we have succeeded in creating a clear visual identity for the entire product line while at the same time effectively highlighting the individual character of each product. The result is a cohesive brand identity that perfectly captures our quality standards.

Vinion Regional Wines

The labels for the regional wine range feature a striking background illustration that is stylized to resemble a hilly vineyard. The clean, minimalist design gives the product group a distinct identity and ensures strong brand recognition while maintaining a unique character. As a result, the wines are confidently positioned within the portfolio and their price range. All varieties are easily distinguishable thanks to a clear color palette.

BEFORE/AFTER

Vinion One Liter

The design of the one-liter line consistently builds on the product’s visual language and develops it further in its own right. This creates a cohesive look that clearly conveys its connection to the product family while also adding its own distinctive touches.

The design centers on the product name, which has been presented in an eye-catching, illustrative style. The light, playful feel gives the label a friendly and modern look, while the clean composition ensures it stands out on the shelf. A carefully coordinated color palette rounds out the look and seamlessly integrates the line into the overall portfolio.
